First weeks

I’ve been struggling with this blog writing, but now I think I got it. Better late than never, I guess?

I’m working in market research company called Mo’web. I’ve been enjoying my time in here. Everyone have been really nice and polite. Also interested about me and Finland.

My first task was analyze that one survey, which was about African people living in Europe. Especially their ways of sending money to home, and what reasons they have for not to send. I checked the results of survey, and made a power point presentation about that. I used diagrams etc. to make it easier to understand the results. That took time to remember how to do that, and my power point is in German language. At least I’m learning few new words.

On weekend there was that marathon, and after that we went for a beer with colleagues. I had a great time. Very lucky to see different cultures.

Last week I started a new task. Nowadays many people have ad blockers on their smart phones. There is also „banner blindness“ which means that people don’t notice or click banner ads. Ad blockers and banner blindness are bad things for an advertiser. The question is, could those more simple and neutral native ads get through ad blockers and maybe create more trust and interest than those flagrant banner ads? I’m going trough the answers of the survey, and then I’ll create a power point presentation about this one as well.

Second weekend was nice too. On Friday we went to Köln for few hours, it seemed really nice, but we did not have enough time! I would like to go again. On Saturday we just went to pub, and met interesting people.

This week I had to register in the company’s website for clients. They’ve been using it for years. That’s why they wanted me to go there, and write kind of a diary from „client’s point of view“. So I just basically write down what is good, and what could be better.

I’ve noticed that difference that here people are so much more open and like close. Hugging and those cheek kisses, felt a bit awkward in the beginning. I just gave a fist bump to my sister when I left home haha. But still happy to learn about different cultures!

My Third Week At Work

My third week at work has been so nice and pleasant. I’ve been taught how big companies need to plan their moves and how they need to know whats the economic situation constantly. Ms Smith has showed me how to handle travel approvals and how you handle urgent things in a big company. My third week has been based on learning about big companies actions and learning about managment. I cant wait for the next week at work and this weekend!
