Hello Again,
We are now 6 days in Arnhem. The work in Hema has been really good so far. We work everyday in a different area. Sometimes we work in the inventory or sometimes we are upstairs with customers. Our PDA Maschine helps us locate items and stock them in the shelve. It gives us the price and tells you where to find it in the inventory as well. We work with really friendly Dutch people. They often try to speak German with us to learn a couple words or phrases. We also learn a couple of normal conversation Dutch words. In our break we eat sometimes in the McDonald’s nearby.
The ride home to and from work is always fun. We ride our bikes threw one of the hilliest places in the Netherlands. Everyday we ride 12 km to work and back. Keeping fit the Dutch way! It’s very different than riding a subway train to school or work like I am used to in Düsseldorf.
Near our village there any many nice walking paths through forest area. It is very beautiful. I am very excited for the coming week, it is also the week where I turn 18 ?.
I will keep you updated,
Nelson

Dear Nelson,
How was your first week in Arnheim? Did you notice many differences between life in Germany and in the Netherlands?
What are your plans for the week-end?
Hello Mrs. Stieldorf
My first week in Arnhem was amazing. Me and Kassim have learned and seen so many things here, I couldn’t even count them all. Life in the Netherlands is in my Opinion much more relaxed and friendlier than in Germany. The people are very nice and love to help you if you ask them. Also stores are open on Sundays which is a benefit in living here.
On our weekend we went in the city to sightsee and on Sunday we went to the national park and did a nice bike tour with the great weather.
Dear Nelson,
I like to read that you help Dutch people to learn German and vice versa. That‘s a huge benefit for everyone! That’s wonderful. 🙂
And: you really take the most out of the Dutch experience by riding the bike everyday. Nice! The place you are must be astonishing. Would you go on vacation here?
Best,
RG
